After work on Wednesday, we drove into Chiang Mai to eat and get some material for the project. Randy took us to a mall where we ate in the Food Court. We tried lots of different Thai foods. I had two different entrees, 2 small waffles, and a scoop of ice cream for desert. The total cost was about $5.00. And it was great food. he mall was huge, but strangely familiar. I saw lots of stores that you can go to in COS: Lacoste, H&M, Payless, Mailboxes, etc., Zara, Calvin Klein, Coldstone, and lots more. There were stores I did not recognize of course

The entrance to the food court. The escalators and atria at the mall.
On our way home we stopped at Home Pro (very much like a huge Home Depot) and bought some supplies. When we got back to our lodge, there was a full fledged party going on. Apparently it was the owner’s wife’s birthday. There was karaoke (dreadful and loud) and lots of chatter and laughter. There were professional singers as well. The bass was actual vibrating the floor of our room, in spite of the fact we were 30 feet above the earth and 100 feet away. Kurt measured the peak sound at 83 dB. But, we both fell asleep in spite of it.
